Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 7, 2026 · Effective: June 7, 2026
🔒 Short summary: All DevToolbox tools run locally in your browser — your input data is not uploaded. This site sets no tracking cookies and only uses essential preference storage (theme). Ads are served by Google AdSense, which uses cookies to display relevant advertising.
1. Data Collection
All DevToolbox tools run locally in your browser. Data you input or process (such as JSON text, Base64 strings, regex patterns, color values, etc.) is never uploaded to our servers. We do not store, view, transmit, or analyze your tool usage data.
This site requires no registration and no login. We do not collect your name, email (unless you proactively send via the contact page), phone number, address, or any other personal information.
2. Cookies and Local Storage
This site uses the following two types of storage:
- Theme preference (localStorage): saves your choice of "dark" or "light" theme, stored only on your device.
- Google AdSense cookies: third-party advertising uses these to display relevant ads and manage frequency. See the advertising section below.
This site sets no tracking cookies and does not use Google Analytics or any other traffic analytics tools.
3. Advertising (Google AdSense)
This site uses Google AdSense to display ads. Google AdSense is a third-party advertising service that uses cookies to display ads relevant to your interests and may use the following information:
- Information about your visits to this site and other AdSense-enabled sites
- Your approximate geographic location (country/city level, inferred from IP)
- Browser type, device type, screen size
You can manage your personalized ad preferences at any time at Google Ad Settings, or opt out of interest-based advertising. Google's data usage is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
4. Server Logs
The web server (Nginx) automatically records access logs, including:
- IP address (short-term storage, used only for security auditing)
- Browser User-Agent (browser type/version)
- Request time, request path, HTTP status code
- Referer (source page, used to understand traffic sources)
These logs are used solely for security auditing, DDoS protection, and troubleshooting. They are not shared with third parties and are not used for user profiling or ad targeting. Logs are retained for no more than 30 days.
5. Third-Party Links
This site may contain links to third-party websites (such as GitHub, Stack Overflow, MDN, reference documentation, etc.). These links are provided for user convenience only — we are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or terms of service of third-party sites. Clicking a third-party link takes you away from this site; we recommend reviewing the target site's privacy policy.
6. Children's Privacy (COPPA)
This site is intended for developers and technical professionals and is not suitable for children under 13. We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided personal information via the contact page, we will delete it immediately.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided information to us without your authorization, please notify us via the Contact Us page. We will delete the relevant data within 5 business days.
7. Data Security
Since this site does not collect user input data, there is virtually no user-data leak risk. We take the following measures to protect base service security:
- HTTPS encryption site-wide (Let's Encrypt SSL certificate)
- Web server security header configuration (CSP, X-Frame-Options, etc.)
- Minimal open ports on the server
- Regular system updates and security patches
Despite our best efforts, no system can guarantee 100% security. By using this site, you acknowledge and accept this risk.
8. Your Data Rights (GDPR / CCPA)
If you are located in the European Union (GDPR applies) or California (CCPA applies), you have the following data rights:
- Right of access: request a copy of personal information we hold about you
- Right of rectification: request correction of inaccurate information
- Right to erasure: request deletion of your personal information ("right to be forgotten")
- Right to restrict processing: restrict how we process your information
- Right to data portability: receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
- Right to object: object to processing based on legitimate interest or direct marketing
To exercise any of these rights, please submit a request via the Contact Us page. We will respond within 30 days. Since this site does not actively collect personal information, most of your data rights are in practice automatically satisfied.
